The actor Hakeem Kae-Kazim, who is currently filming in the Czech Republic, will be a guest at the closing ceremony of the 55th Karlovy Vary IFF.
Hakeem Kae-Kazim comes from Nigeria and audiences know him from a number of films and TV series. He mainly achieved international recognition thanks to his role in the drama Hotel Rwanda (2004), which received three Oscar nominations. In his filmography we can also find the Hollywood hits King Solomon's Mines, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, X-Men Origins: Wolverine or the popular TV series Criminal Minds, The Adventures of Sinbad, Strike Back, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit or Lost.
He was born in Lagos, Nigeria and when he was a year old, he moved with his parents to Great Britain. He studied at the British theatre school Bristol Old Vic and then received an offer to perform in the Royal Shakespeare Company. At that time, he portrayed several diverse roles in British television series. When he was twenty-five, he settled in South Africa and established himself as a film actor. He received great international attention from the portrayal of George Rutaganda in Terry George’s aforementioned war drama, Hotel Rwanda.
