Festival tips for Sunday, 3 July

July 03, 2022, 8:00

The third festival day will again offer compelling films as well as a rich accompanying programme.

The largest screening of Coral Dreams, a digital work by world-renowned artist Refik Anadol, is presented at the NFT Alwyn Gallery in Smetana Gardens every day from 10:00 a.m. The exhibition is open until the end of the festival.

Today, we invite you to two premieres of films included in the Crystal Globe Competition – The Ordinaries and The Word, and two premieres of films included in the Proxima Competition – Horseplay and La Pietà.

You can meet the authors of films competing for the Crystal Globe in person at the Meet & Greet event, taking place at the new KVIFF.TV Park. The host Linda Bartošová will hold talks with the creators of the science fiction film Vesper from 1:15 p.m. and with the delegation presenting the bitter Polish comedy Fucking Bornholm from 4:00 p.m.

KVIFF TALK with the star of the first festival weekend, Liev Schreiber, will take place from 2:00 p.m. at the Thermal press hall. The actor, known for the Ray Donovan series and a number of Hollywood films, will be interviewed by Scott Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter. If you are fluent in English (the discussion is without interpreting), you have a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the career of this remarkable actor.

You can enjoy a Tea at Three at the Czech Television House at 3 p.m. and meet the creators of the Czech film The Word. You can also visit a discussion with Czech filmmakers about the skiers’ drama The Last Race held at the innogy point at Mlýnská kolonáda from 4:00 p.m.

The Thermal Hotel will host the launch of the book My Mother Jana Brejchová at 4.00 p.m. The book captures the life of one of the greatest Czech movie stars through the eyes of her daughter Tereza Brodská. The book is now available in our Festival Shops.

The music programme continues throughout the Sunday evening – the promising young singer Tea Sofia performs in Smetanovy sady from 8:00 p.m., and the KAISER 56 pop-up space in Mattoni Life Bar welcomes Addict and guests from 8:30 p.m. The festival’s accompanying programme also offers many other ways how to spend the third day of the festival.
