The final day of the 58th KVIFF is here, and with it the last festival tips for warm outdoor spaces and chilled cinema halls. The day will be kick-started by the screening of Pierce at 8:30 a.m. in the Congress Hall. At 11:59 p.m., the program will conclude with the screening of Hunting Daze at the Čas Cinema.
If you haven’t seen any of the audience favourites of this year’s festival yet, don’t despair. Get up bright and early to catch the 9:00 a.m. screening of the successful Waves at the Small Hall, The Gardener’s Year starts at 3:00 p.m. at the Drahomíra Cinema, at 7:00 p.m. the screening of the music-themed Tatabojs.doc will begin in the Congress Hall, and the screening of the romance Memory starts at the same time at the Karlovy Vary Municipal Theatre. At 10:00 p.m., this marathon of the most sought-after films will finish with The Substance screened at the Karlovy Vary Municipal Theatre.
On Saturday, you also have the last chance to explore the city and the surrounding area with Specialized rental bikes. At 12:00 noon, a special programme will take place in the KVIFF.TV Park during which donations from the charity event organized by the Jakub Voráček Foundation will be handed over to the cinema in Pernink. And before that, at 11:15 a.m., Čestmír Strakatý will interview the actor Josef Trojan at the same place.
With the festival closing comes the time to announce the best films. The first awards – the non-statutory jury awards – will be presented at 3:00 p.m. at the Vodafone Lounge in the Hotel Thermal.
The festival will finally culminate in the closing ceremony. At 4:00 p.m., we will start welcoming the festival stars on the red carpet in front of the Hotel Thermal. The awarding of the Crystal Globes will then follow at the Grand Hall. The winners of the Crystal Globe and the Proxima Competitions will be announced, and actors Clive Owen and Ivan Trojan will receive the Festival President’s Award from the hands of Jiří Bartoška.
At 8:00 p.m., the area in front of the Hotel Thermal will come alive as well with the performance of I Love You Honey Bunny. If that’s not your cup of tea, Xindl X will be playing a concert at the Mattoni Life Bar at the same time.
We hope that you have enjoyed the 58th KVIFF. Thank you!
