The last day of the 57th KVIFF has come. You can spend the Saturday in the chill of cinemas or enjoy the summer heat outdoors as near-tropical temperatures are forecast.
Filmmakers will be present at some cinema screenings. Discussions will be held for the Australian film The Survival of Kindness from 12:00 noon at the Čas Cinema and after the Czech parable from the 1990s Way Through the Bleak Woods, screened from 3:00 p.m. at the Small Hall, among others.
With the festival closing comes the time to announce the best films. The first awards – the non-statutory jury prizes – will be presented at 3:00 p.m. at the Thermal Hotel Vodafone Lounge.
However, the closing ceremony is the festival highlight. Foreign and Czech filmmakers will start to arrive at the red carpet in front of the Thermal Hotel at 4:00 p.m. The awarding of the iconic Crystal Globes will commence afterwards at the Grand Hall. The winners of The Crystal Globe Competition and Proxima competition sections will be announced, and actresses Robin Wright and Daniela Kolářová will receive the KVIFF President’s Award from the hands of Jiří Bartoška .
You can also dance to the end of the festival. Yulia Fediv will perform at Mattoni Life Bar at 6:00 p.m., The Valentines from Hradec Králové start at 9:00 p.m., and Laokoon will wrap it all at 10:00 p.m. KVIFF.TV Park will be busy too, welcoming DJ Bidlo, who has become an item at the festival.
