Synopsis

Gloria is a 58-year-old woman who still feels young and has no intention of giving up on life. Divorced with grown-up children, she looks for love in dance halls on singles’ nights. One day she meets Rodolfo and an intense romance begins. Gloria puts everything she has into it because she feels this could be her last romance. Walking the thin line between hope and disappointment, she confronts life with a proud heart even though she is several times brought to her knees. In the final stretch she triumphs, demonstrating greater strength than even she anticipated. This film about feelings and emotions is told subjectively from Gloria’s point of view. The camera follows her every step and there isn’t a single shot in the film in which she doesn’t feature. With enormous humanity, humour and understanding, the director tracks one person’s unremitting struggle for a fulfilling and worthwhile life, and shows that a longing for love and appreciation is present at every age. He found an outstanding actress to fill the main role, Paulina García, whose performance won her the Best Actress Award at this year’s Berlinale.
