When Rómulo, a private investigator, places an ad in the paper seeking to hire a pensioner, 83-year-old widower Sergio jumps at the chance. His task is to move into a nursing home in order to keep tabs on the elderly mother of Rómulo’s client, who suspects the institution’s staff of mistreatment. This Chilean documentary is part spy comedy, part deeply personal observation of old age – a time of great compassion but also of loneliness.
