Festival Tips for Monday 7.7.

July 07, 2025, 8:00

The festival competitions welcome two world premieres today: Jimmy Jaguar and The Visitor. Both titles will screen in the Grand Hall at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively. The Proxima Competition continues at the Karlovy Vary Theatre with Sand City at 4 p.m. and How Come It’s All Green Out Here? at 7 p.m.

Earlier today in the Grand Hall, Icelandic lyricist Hlynur Pálmason will present his latest work, The Love That Remains, at 11 a.m. At 2 p.m., Peter Bebjak and his creative team will introduce the biographical film Duchoň.

Emerging talents from European film schools will present their short films as part of the Future Frames programme. You will have the chance to meet their mentor, Dea Kulumbegashvili, after the screening of April, which starts at 8:30 p.m. in Čas Cinema.

A discussion about the Czech film Caravan, recently shown at Cannes, will take place at innogy Point from 3 p.m.

Once again, KVIFF.TV Park will offer plenty to see and do. Thanks to Meet & Greet sessions, you can meet the creators of the competition films Divia (1:30 p.m.) and Broken Voices (4 p.m.). And at 11 a.m., the KVIFF X space will host Broken Voices star Juraj Loj. Actors will take the spotlight in the Actorsmap debate on actor self-realisation, during which a new platform will be introduced at 3 p.m., and the Actors with Actors programme continues at 5:30 p.m. with a conversation with Petr Vančura and Jana Plodková.

You can test your knowledge in the traditional KVIFF.TV quiz hosted by AMC and Jakub Štáfek, starting at 6:30 p.m.

At noon, the Audiovisual Producers’ Association will induct Jan Bílek from ETAMP into its Producers Hall of Fame. ETAMP was the first Czech company to focus primarily on servicing foreign productions. Following the screening of his medallion, Jan Bílek will appear for a moderated interview.

Tonight at KVIFF.TV Park, the evening programme kicks off with a Don Papa rum party at 8 p.m., followed by a performance from Mike Trafik & Orion at 9:30 p.m., joined by legends of the Czech music and rap scene.

You can find the full accompanying programme, including today’s concerts, here.
