Beautiful Beings Beautiful Beings

Synopsis

Following his debut Heartstone (2016), which took home nearly forty festival awards, Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson is back with another unsettling yet highly sensitive drama about the dark side of adolescence. The main protagonist of his new film is 14-year-old Addi, whose daily routine involves violence and aggression among children. The combative young boy decides to take a bullied classmate under his wing and introduces him to his gang of two other friends. They are all stronger than newcomer Balli, but they also have their own demons to fight. Guðmundsson once again shows his ability to depict the world of juveniles with all its beauties and cruelties, and again works with an excellent cast of actors.
