Yulia Evina Bhara

Indonesian producer and founder of KawanKawan Media. Her films regularly appear on the programmes of important festivals such as Cannes (Tiger Stripes or Renoir), Venice (Autobiography) and San Sebastian (Last Shadow at First Light). She has also produced the films Don’t Cry, Butterfly, Tale of the Land, Stone Turtle, Solo Solitude and The Science of Fictions.

Noaz Deshe

Romanian filmmaker based in Athens and Mexico City. His first feature film White Shadow won Best Debut at the Venice IFF in 2013. Last year KVIFF screened his Xoftex in the Crystal Globe Competition, a work shot with Palestinian and Syrian asylum seekers in a fictional refugee camp. The film earned him a Special Jury Mention and later also won the Best Director award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. As a composer he has scored the music for Babak Jalali’s Frontier Blues and Land and he collaborated on Carolina Cavalli’s upcoming film The Kidnapping of Arabella.

Nelson Carlos De Los Santos Arias

Dominican filmmaker. His debut short film, SheSaid HeWalks won the Scottish BAFTA New Talent award. He made two feature films as part of his study programme, The Carriage and Santa Teresa (the latter premiered at FIDMarseille). Cocote, his first feature outside academia, won the Golden Leopard in the Signs of Life category at Locarno, while his latest film, Pepe, was selected for last year’s Berlinale Competition, where it earned him a Silver Bear for Best Director.

Jakub Felcman

Czech screenwriter, festival organiser, film journalist, creative producer, director, trained plumber. He studied film at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts and at FAMU, he has published interviews and analyses (Cinepur magazine), he has programmed festivals and founded two of them (Ostrava Kamera Oko, Marienbad). He worked as a script editor on films by Jan Němec, Petr Václav, Radu Jude and Corneliu Porumboiu. Films involving his screenplay collaboration have also played to cinema audiences (A Night Too Young, A Certain Kind of Silence, The Wolf from Royal Vineyard Street).

Marissa Frobes

An agent in the Media Finance department at leading entertainment and sports agency CAA, specializing in the packaging and sales of independently financed films. She supported the packaging or sale of projects including The Brutalist, Rebuilding (Crystal Globe Competition at this year’s KVIFF), Alpha Gang and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. She represents such filmmakers as Jane Schoenbrun, India Donaldson, Zia Anger and Joel Alfonso Vargas, among others. She was previously at Participant Media and served as an assistant to CAA client Todd Haynes on the film Dark Waters.
