The festival may be over, but the show must go on. Find out which films from the 57 th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will be distributed in Czech cinemas.
On 13 July, the Berlinale-winning documentary On the Adamant, about an “ark” in the centre of Paris where the mentally ill are cared for, will be released. And the King Said, What a Fantastic Machine, a dynamic film essay on the relationship between people and photography will be screened from 20 July, while the international festival hit Past Lives by Canadian-Korean director Celine Song will hit cinemas on 27 July.
The summer film harvest will continue on 31 August, with the release of the Czech existential sci-fi film Brutal Heat and a compilation of successful films by young filmmakers FAMU Four.
In October, the big screen will welcome Czech films from the KVIFF Crystal Globe
Competition: We Have Never Been Modern on the 5th and A Sensitive Person on the 12th. White Plastic Sky, the haunting animated Hungarian dystopic film, will be released on the same day.
This year’s Karlovy Vary harvest also includes She Came at Night, a horror comedy about relationships with mothers, which will arrive in cinemas on 9 November alongside the French culinary romance Pot-au-Feu.
