Festival Tips for Sunday 6 July

July 06, 2025, 8:00

Sunday’s program in the Grand Hall opens at 11 a.m. with a screening of the newly digitally restored classic Ecce homo Homolka. The European premiere of All That’s Left of You, exploring the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, starts in the Grand Hall at 2 p.m. with a delegation of filmmakers attending.

At 1 p.m., American actor Peter Sarsgaard will reflect on his career during a KVIFF Talk in the Congress Hall. Later in the evening, festival guest Dakota Johnson will receive the KVIFF President’s Award at 10:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall and present her new film Materialists. Fans can greet her earlier on the red carpet in front of Hotel Thermal.

Today’s Crystal Globe Competition lineup in the Grand Hall begins at 5:30 p.m. with the world premiere of Divia, a documentary on Russian aggression in Ukraine. It will be followed by the world premiere of the Czech drama Broken Voices, a film that exposes authoritarian manipulation within a girls’ choir. Earlier in the day, you can tune into Ondřej Provazník’s film more closely through an accompanying programme. The creators of Broken Voices will discuss their project at innogy Point from 2 p.m., and later you can meet them at the Czech Television House from 3 p.m.

At 5 p.m., the Czech Television House will host a debate with the creators of The Other Side of Summer, another Czech film which had its world premiere yesterday in the Proxima Competition. Several titles will celebrate their world premieres today at the Karlovy Vary Theatre: Action Item (4 p.m.), The Anatomy of the Horses (6 p.m.) and Before / After (9 p.m.). Festival-goers will also have a chance to share their impressions with filmmakers from the Crystal Globe Competition at the Meet & Greet in KVIFF.TV Park – The Luminous Life at 1:30 p.m. and Out of Love at 4:15 p.m.

And if you are in the mood to dance your way through the evening, head to the Mattoni Life Bar at 9 p.m., where composer, producer, and DJ NobodyListen will perform alongside special guests.
