The Fourth Proxima Competition Presents 13 Films

June 03, 2025, 10:04

The fourth edition of the Proxima Competition focused on progressive tendencies in filmmaking features twelve world premieres and one international premiere.

Among other things, you can look forward to an intellectually stimulating journey through space and time (The Anatomy of the Horses), a trip to Istanbul for a hair transplant (Before / After), a look at the life of millennials (Renovation), and an intense 222-minute autobiography about a Syrian refugee camp in Berlin (TrepaNation).

A year after the premiere of her documentary debut Lapilli, Paula Ďurinová returns to Proxima with Action Item, an activist dissection of burnout set in the German capital. The Czech Republic is represented by a gentle study of adolescents dreaming of another world, The Other Side of Summer, the second feature film by Vojtěch Strakatý, whose debut After Party was shown last year in Venice.
